QA Developer in Test

Quality Assurance Engineer

As a key member, you will help establish a next-generation risk transfer workflow solution in the Property & Casualty (P&C) market, with a huge emphasis on creating an incredible user experience. With their small but rapidly growing engineering organization, you will be a key contributor to technical and product decisions. You will work directly and closely with their cross-disciplinary InsurTech team, consisting of the CEO, Product & Engineering team, and Product users. You will also have opportunities to tutor and coach junior engineers within the development team as it grows.

Their team is moving to a remote working model and re-investing half of the cost saving into team meets up and social events.

Responsibilities
They are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer with a passion and entrepreneur spirit for contributing to a solution that will revolutionize the way things are done in a huge, established market.
Your core responsibilities will be to:
  • Ensure we deliver a high-quality product through feature acceptance testing
  • Run and maintain a sprint-to-sprint regression test suite to prevent new development from breaking existing features
  • Work closely with the rest of the Product & Engineering team as new features are developed to build out test plans and testing strategies
  • Build out our automated end-to-end test suite to increase application coverage as the product develops
  • Work directly with the Head of Product & Engineering to continue to develop our QA process
  • This is a highly entrepreneurial opportunity and you will be part of the first wave of collaborators, with the ability to shape both the business and your role as you go forward and build credibility and trust with our team and partners.
Requirements Qualifications
You’re perfect for this role if you:
  • Enjoy picking things apart and digging in to find the edge-cases that haven’t been thought of
  • Have strong communication skills to feedback accurate bug reports to the rest of the Product & Engineering team
  • Have a strong interest in leveraging the latest tech and frameworks, and generally turning innovation into real-world products
  • Are results-driven with a strong ownership mentality and drive to deliver on schedule and problem-solve independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Are a team player who openly shares information, helps others, and is open to new ideas and “going the extra mile” when needed.
  • Your track record should include: Experience working as part of a development team to test web-based applications
  • Any development experience with end-to-end testing libraries, particularly Cypress, Jest, is a plus Knowledge of web technologies and the differences between various browser and OS environments and how that can impact web software A drive to get better every day, demonstrated by evident career progression and explorations
  • Experience with agile and lean philosophies
  • Experience working with a small team towards aggressive product development milestones, with a strong appreciation of business needs
