HR Business Partner

As an HR Business Partner, you will have a particular focus on fostering employee relations, managing performance management initiatives, and overseeing benefits administration. Collaborating closely with the Director, Human Resources, you will engage with all levels of management to formulate and execute HR strategies that align seamlessly with the organization's overarching goals and objectives. This dynamic leadership role requires adept decision-making, critical thinking, and a keen ability to coach and mentor the HR team effectively. The successful candidate should demonstrate the capability to think strategically while ensuring the seamless execution of corporate and departmental initiatives within the day-to-day operations of the HR department.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization’s Key Performance Attributes and business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Conduct ongoing research on industry best practices and stay current of the latest trends in HR to drive continuous improvement within the HR function.
  • Departmental Development: Participate in the development of departmental goals, objectives, and systems to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes.
  • Program Oversight: Oversee the implementation of Human Resources programs, identifying opportunities for enhancement and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Data Interpretation: Create and interpret comprehensive reports, transforming data into compelling narratives to inform decision-making processes.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Safeguard the interests of employees and the company by ensuring adherence to company policies and provincial laws and regulations, minimizing potential risks.
  • Managerial Coaching: Provide coaching and training to managers, fostering improved communication, feedback, recognition, interaction and ensuring adherence to current legislation, with their respective teams.
  • Strategic Business Partnership: Collaborate as a strategic partner with the business to drive initiatives such as succession planning, workforce planning, and organizational design.
  • Performance Improvement: Monitor and facilitate the implementation of a performance improvement process for non-performing employees.
  • Performance Appraisal Cycle: Play an active role in the implementation of the annual Performance Appraisal and Goal Setting cycle.
  • HRIS Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize the utilization of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to eliminate administrative/manual tasks.
  • Compensation Alignment: Work closely with the HR team to ensure compensation practices align with the company’s recruitment, selection, and hiring processes.
  • Benefits and Pension Oversight: Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the group health benefits plan and pension programs.
  • Budgeting Support: Support the annual HR budgeting process by providing valuable input.
  • Recruitment: Support recruitment by partnering with hiring managers from job description creating, job analysis, sourcing, screening and selection, offer management and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as required to contribute to the overall success of the HR function.
  • Possible travel 1 or 2 times per quarter to locations in Canada


Education and Experience:
  • Possession of a post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Resources Management and/or a CHRP designation.
  • A minimum of 8 years of HR in a similar capacity
  • Additional Assets:
    • Experience in organizational design, workforce planning
    • Intermediate Excel skills
    • Working knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce is an asset
    • Experience across multiple industries and work environments such as Offices and Warehouse/Manufacturing
