Full Stack Java Developer - 6 month contract to start with chance of extension

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Full Stack Java Developer to join our team at a leading retail company. As a Full Stack Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-based software solutions using Java technologies tailored for the retail industry. Your primary focus will be on building scalable and reliable applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Additionally, you will work on the front end of the stack using modern JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions using Java technologies tailored for the retail industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Build and maintain cloud-based applications on platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Develop front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in software development, cloud computing, and front-end frameworks.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical discussions.
• Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a focus on Java backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, etc.).
• Experience developing and deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency in front-end development using JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Certifications in relevant technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, Java, etc.) are a plus.
