Toronto, Ontario · Computer/Software

About The Role

As a Product Designer, you will be involved across the full product development lifecycle. You will be using your skills in design thinking, UX, interaction design, visual design and prototyping to validate features and create product experiences that deliver measurable value.

Our dream candidate is a designer at heart with a passion for understanding our users and is an enthusiastic team player who enjoys working across all business functions (engineering, go-to-market, product & customer support).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

User-Centered Design

  • Prepare wireframes, user flows, journey maps, and other artifacts to effectively communicate interactions and design ideas
  • Turn validated wireframes into stunningly intuitive screens to be delivered to the engineering team
  • Champion a user-centered design approach, ensuring that the end-users' needs and goals are at the forefront of the design process.
  • Create intuitive and engaging user experiences by applying user and problem-centric design methodologies
  • Apply a strong understanding of user interface and experience design to build simple, fun, and useful product experiences.
  • Use your expertise in UI patterns, typography, colour, design systems, and accessibility to create consistent and scalable designs.

Product Strategy & Planning

  • Contribute to the strategic planning of products by understanding user needs, market trends, and business goals.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define product visions, roadmaps, and feature sets that align with user and business objectives.

User Research & Analysis

  • Lead and participate in user research activities, such as user interviews, usability testing, and surveys.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings to develop insights into user behavior, pain points, and preferences, which inform the design process and business strategy.

Design Leadership

  • Build the early design systems groundwork and develop scalable frameworks that champion quality at startup pace.
  • Provide design leadership on the design team, and cross-functionally within the larger organization.
  • Guide and mentor other designers, fostering a positive & ego-free design culture that advocates for best design principles and practices.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in user-centric design principles and processes including mobile design standards and best practices
  • Good eye for UI/UX design and mastery of the methodology behind creating amazing user workflows
  • An excellent collaborator who loves to work with others to understand and solve our user’s problems
  • Self-directed, thriving on ambiguity, using your creativity and scrappiness to figure things out

  • A creative problem solver who is highly resourceful in getting things done
  • Prepared with a strong portfolio demonstrating your design abilities and relevant product-building experiences
