Business Intelligence Engineer 

3 days per week in Vaughan office.

We’re looking for a skilled Business Intelligence/Data Engineer to help drive our transition to a cutting-edge Azure-based BI ecosystem.

As part of the team, you’ll design and develop data pipelines, optimize reporting solutions, and play a key role in evolving our data landscape from legacy systems to the latest Microsoft technologies. While our transition progresses, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring data integrity and supporting seamless reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand data needs and create scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Design and maintain automated data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
  • Develop and implement ETL/ELT processes to support data migration from SSIS to Fabric and Azure.
  • Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to improve reporting and data processing performance.
  • Renovate and enhance existing Power BI and SSRS reports.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security within BI solutions.
  • Support self-service BI initiatives, empowering business users with high-quality, accessible data.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to enhance data usability and accessibility.
  • Document technical designs and contribute to continuous improvement.

After the successful transition to Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based BI solutions, your role will evolve to:
  • Enhance data pipelines for efficiency and scalability
  • Maintain and advance data architecture to meet evolving business needs
  • Develop advanced analytics and reporting capabilities leveraging Azure technologies and Power BI
  • Automate and optimize data processing for peak performance
  • Monitor and improve data quality, governance, and security frameworks
  • Research and implement cutting-edge Microsoft data solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing to elevate the entire team

What You Bring
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and BI solutions.
  • Strong expertise in ETL/ELT, SQL-based data transformation, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query) and SSRS.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks.
  • Experience with medallion data architecture (preferred).
  • Understanding of data governance and security standards.
  • Supply chain industry data experience is a plus (preferred, not required).
  • Microsoft Certification in Azure Data Engineering is a strong asset.
