 Senior Business Analyst (AI Platforms & Agile Delivery)
  • 3 month contract to start, likely extension. 
  • 2-3 days in office in downtown Toronto

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to act as a strategic bridge between executive leadership and our technical delivery teams. In this role, you will lead the discovery and definition of complex AI platform requirements while driving enterprise-level Agile transformations. 

This position is ideal for a high-impact professional who possesses expanded conceptual knowledge in business analysis, understands the operational "why" behind corporate strategy, and excels at mentoring junior peers. You will have the opportunity to lead key streams of work, influence team direction, and directly impact business outcomes across multiple related teams.

Core Responsibilities

 Product Discovery
  • Facilitate high-impact C-suite workshops to define, refine, and align AI platform requirements and product visions.
  • Map complex business processes, design user personas, and establish comprehensive product roadmaps.
  • Author core Agile artifacts, including high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans

Cross-Functional Delivery & Backlog Management
  • Align executive business priorities with technical execution, serving as the primary liaison between stakeholders and delivery teams (Engineers, UX, QAs, and PMs).
  • Take full ownership of product backlog management, prioritisation, and refinement.
  • Apply a solid understanding of software architecture, complex application design, and UX principles to guide technical feasibility.

Practice Growth & Mentorship
  • Drive enterprise Agile transformations and champion Agile/Lean best practices within the broader Business Analysis community
  • Act as a trusted resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience, actively fostering a culture of continuous learning and supportive feedback.
  • Put the team's success first, taking joint ownership of collective goals and encouraging knowledge sharing.
Business Acumen & Problem Solving
  • Build compelling business cases to secure project approvals and take measurable steps to improve core business metrics.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market competition and share these strategic insights to contextualize technical decisions for the team.
  • Solve complex problems in straightforward situations by analyzing potential solutions using technical experience, judgment, and past precedents.

Stakeholder Alignment & Influence
  • Explain difficult, technical, or sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences to build consensus.
  • Build awareness of broader stakeholder linkages to influence decisions beyond the immediate project and proactively repair damaged professional relationships when necessary.

Operational Excellence & Citizenship
  • Manage independent workstreams and small projects, occasionally pairing with other project leads.
  • Support corporate growth and talent acquisition by conducting a minimum of two candidate interviews per month.
  • Demonstrate strong professional citizenship by meeting utilization targets, managing leave planning, and setting a compliance example (e.g., timely timesheet completion)
 

Key Requirements
  • Agile Expertise:Proven experience in Agile business analysis, product discovery, and managing end-to-end product backlogs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Exceptional facilitation skills with a track record of guiding C-level executives through requirement-gathering workshops.
  • Domain Knowledge: Direct experience or a strong conceptual grasp of AI platform requirements, software architecture, and user experience (UX) principles.
  • Strategic Thinker:Ability to connect daily technical execution to overarching business cases, market competition, and commercial metrics.
  • Leadership Capabilities:Demonstrated experience mentoring junior peers and influencing cross-functional team directions without direct authority.
