Mobile Lead Developer

Our client is making breakthroughs in helping people improve their health through nutrition.  Due to growth they are looking for an experienced mobile developer who can take a leadership role in building and growing the mobile product, and ultimately improving health outcomes for users on the platform.

• An excellent user experience: working along side their product designer, you will be responsible for ensuring their users have an excellent experience, including a low crash/error rate, a smooth and high-quality UI, and high engagement + retention rates.
• Agility and rapid iteration: working along their senior mobile developer, you will be responsible for ensuring the mobile platform affords technical agility and rapid iteration.
• Improving health outcomes: the number one outcome for every individual is improving the health outcomes of users on their platform, and as the mobile lead, you will have a huge amount of influence.
• Team: working directly with the CTO - 15 years startup experience, including 1 exit, and 2 stable + growing companies), and closely along side Co-founder and CEO, product designer (ex-Shopify), and senior mobile developer. More broadly you would also be working in some capacity 2 other founders (COO, CMO) and the sales, marketing, dietetics, and customer support staff.
• Product: Their product is a clinically proven nutrition assessment platform: patients use their app to take photos of their meals, from those photos they perform a full nutritional analysis, and deliver that analysis to the patient’s healthcare provider, where it’s used to support treatment for conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
• Why we’re growing the team: they are in the process of expanding beyond “just” a nutritional assessment platform, and developing the ability to support people in their entire health journey - nutrition, exercise, sleep, mental health, and so on. The North Star for this role is improving the health of users on the platform.

• 7+ years experience with mobile development (React Native/Expo is a plus, but not required), experience with mobile product design, experience working in a leadership capacity.

• Office/remote: we have a downtown Toronto office, and we all come in at least 2 days a week (some folks come in every day).
