VP of Engineering

About the Role

As the VP of Engineering, you’ll play a leading role in determining our technical direction and strategy. You’ll build Engineering team from the ground up while solving unique, large-scale, highly complex strategic and technical problems. You’ll be a thought leader in the development of our important technical product, our proprietary Token Tax Engine which helps unlock token payroll for employees globally.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and build and lead a high-performing engineering team to drive our vision of creating the best working experience for contributors and unlocking legal, compliant employment for the next million contributors in Web3. You’ll collaborate with various senior stakeholders in product and design on architecture, requirements, and implementation of technical solutions.

Timezone requirement: EST +/- 5 hours

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a high-performing Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and our CEO to turn our long-term vision into tangible goals.
  • Design technical infrastructure to help us scale by creating new product flows, front- and back-end systems, and implementing these from scratch.
  • Architect our Token Tax Engine product and help set the foundation to scale it to 100+ countries.
  • Establish best practices ensuring that systems and processes are well documented to ensure the scalability of the Engineering team.
  • Bring innovative ideas to the table every day, in order to find better ways of accomplishing our objectives. Set clear, measurable quality goals for an organization in a data-driven way.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • You have a proven track record of recruiting and managing A+ talent, including managers.
  • You’ve implemented engineering team processes across teams of at least ~8 engineers. These processes might include release management, product roadmaps, monitoring and bug reporting systems, and quality assurance processes.
  • You are fluent in product design and strategy and have created/negotiated very aggressive product roadmaps to launch features faster than anyone thought possible.
  • You know what high-quality code and software engineering processes look like and know how to foster an environment that creates them.
  • You're passionate about the intersection of Web3 and traditional compensation models.
  • We are a growing distributed team that embraces remote work. You must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment and in multiple time zones.
