Job description - Product Manager

Every month, thousands of Canadian homeowners use our portfolio company to research and connect with local contractors. Our team is looking for an amazing Product Manager to lead its growth! Reporting to the VP of Subscription Revenue, the product manager plays the lead role in our Agile product development cycle, is the visionary for the product, and the individual who fully represents the consumer (our biggest stakeholder) as well as our internal teams.  The product manager is responsible for enhancements to our subscription product and site experience, from ideation and build, through to launch and operations.

  

We are looking for a product manager with a proven track record for driving digital acquisition and subscription growth. The role will be measured through key performance indicators (audience growth, project posting activity, new subscribers, retention, engagement, etc.) and the delivery of key product enhancements to the market.  

 

Responsibility

1. Product Vision and Planning

  • Develop and champion the product vision throughout the team
  • Lead rapid experimentation efforts to validate opportunities and solutions
  • Collect, organize and synthesize user feedback into actionable features or products
  • Communicate, quantify, and identify business value, and make prioritizations based on the value
  • Lead the planning process and work with stakeholders in developing product roadmaps to ensure objectives and targets are met 
  • Responsible for developing and implementing new products/services/features with the objective of creating compelling consumer experiences and value
  • Understanding market, the industry trends, the competitive landscape and user needs and adjusts accordingly

 

2. Product Management

  • Lead life cycle management for existing products/services; identify and recommend product improvements, and new features to deliver value 
  • Coordinate and work closely with the product development team and other cross-functional teams like sales, site operations, customer success, marketing, and more to meet product deliverables
  • Prioritize the product backlogs so that each successive Sprint can be planned clearly and efficiently
  • Actively engage with the development team to ensure development decisions stay aligned with business needs, and address issues quickly and confidently
  • Be passionate about and work with our data team for data-driven decision making
  • Ongoing monitoring of product performance using analytics, A/B testing, user feedback, competitive information, and market research

 

3. Industry Knowledge 

  • Be the subject matter expert on macro trends driving supply and demand in the Canadian home-reno space
  • Understand competing and complimentary services in TrustedPros’ addressable market

 

Requirements

 

  • 3-5 years of experience in publishing or B2C subscription product management
  • University degree in STEM or equivalent business experience
  • Proven track record of successful product launch and management
  • Familiarity with subscription product KPIs 
  • Experience working across multiple digital properties
  • Experience leading teams in an agile environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams
