Oracle Database Developer – Contract 1 year +

Long term, remote contract opportunity.  Ideal experience includes financial services, trading, trade floor environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, development and enhancements of data related requirements from credit risk function. He/she should be responsible on managing various asset classes and insurance data, reference data with the house managed applications to deliver functionality for credit risk officers, investments stakeholders and executive reporting.

• Develop, implement and support new features and enhancements for business teams in managing and using their dataParticipate in all phases of database development from data-modeling to capturing, processing and creating data results as needed by business groups

• Work with various technology teams (Architecture, infrastructure, development, devOps and support) to ensure that a reliable, scalable and cost-effective data solutions are being implemented

• Support various business and IT control partner requests (Internal and external audits, security and vulnerabilities review and remediation, resiliency certifications)

• Help with Application onboarding/offboarding to GEAR (app repository) and process to maintain data quality in app repository

• Help on ensuring production batch cycle of applications and clean data to business

• Help on various migration related activities such as cloud migration, server move, domain name changes and AD group changes etc.,

Skills Needed

• 7+ Years of experience working as Software engineer well versed in Database development and Data warehousing concepts

• Developing Oracle PLSQL Packages, Stored procedures, Triggers and Views

• Writing complex SQL queries

• SQL and PL/SQL Performance optimization

• Understanding existing code and creating logical flow diagrams

• Understanding the latest features of Oracle and be able to explain

• Must have development experience in Python programming

• Must have experience working in Batch automation environment using tools such as Ctrl+M, Autosys etc

• Must have experience on handling various file systems such as text, excel, JSON, XML etc.,

• Must have experience on scripting languages such as Unix Shell Scripting

• Must be a self-starter and be able to start working on tasks with very little guidance.

• Must have excellent communication skills.

• Must have the ability to perform customer-facing activities in a fast-paced environment with short timeframes

• Must have the ability to uncover business challenges and develop solutions to solve the challenges

• Must have the ability to learn new technologies and techniques

• Must have source code control expertise on managing and deploying the source code.

• Hands on experience in GIT/GITHUB and CI/CD pipeline is a plus

• Hands on experience in AWS cloud architecture is a plus

• Hands on experience on various cloud-based database such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL is a plus
