Overview
The IT Administrator will provide essential support to maintain the firm’s IT infrastructure and systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role is focused on system oversight, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance, while also taking on facilities-related tasks that align with IT. The IT Administrator will work closely with the Director of IT and eDiscovery to ensure the firm’s technology functions efficiently. This position is ideal for candidates with solid technical skills looking to grow in a professional IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support and System Maintenance
 Network and System Oversight: Assist in maintaining the firm’s network, including servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN. Ensure uptime and security are maintained for daily operations.
 System Maintenance and Updates: Perform routine updates, security patches, and
software installations across all systems. Ensure backups are running as scheduled and data recovery processes are in place.
 User Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to staff and lawyers.
Assist with hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
 User Account and System Access: Create, modify, and manage user accounts,
permissions, and system access. Maintain security protocols.
 Hardware and Software Setup: Support the procurement, setup, and configuration of new IT hardware and software. Oversee inventory and asset management.
 Document Management Systems (DMS): Assist with the operation and maintenance of the firm’s document management systems, ensuring proper use and data integrity.
 IT Security: Assist in enforcing security policies, monitoring systems for threats, and ensuring antivirus and firewall protections are active and updated.

Facilities Support and Technology Integration
 Facilities Technology Support: Oversee and maintain A/V equipment, office phone
systems, printers, and other office technology. Provide basic technical support for facilities-related technology, such as lighting and security systems.
 Telecom and Internet Support: Assist with maintaining internet and phone services, managing outages and coordinating with vendors when necessary.
 Security Systems: Maintain office access control systems, ensuring secure and reliable operation. Assist with troubleshooting any technical issues related to office security systems.
 Vendor Coordination (Facilities-related): Assist with coordinating vendors for IT-
related office equipment, security systems, and telecom services.

Qualifications
 College diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
 2+ years of experience in IT support or administration, ideally within a professional services environment.
 Familiarity with networking, server maintenance, user support, and cybersecurity
practices.
 Experience with document management systems, law firm practice management software, and eDiscovery platforms is a plus.
 Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues independently.
 Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist non-technical users.
 Experience with facilities-related IT tasks, such as managing phone systems or office technology, is an asset.
